American Legion Baseball League.
The American Legion Baseball League was first founded in 1925, at an American Legion state convention in Milbank, S.D..
American Legion Baseball is a national institution, having not only thrived through a world war, but also several national tragedies, through times of great prosperity as well as great despair.
American Legion Baseball has taught hundreds of thousands of young Americans the importance of Sportsmanship, Good Health and Active Citizenship. The program is also a promoter of equality, making teammates out of young athletes regardless of their income levels or social standings. American Legion Baseball has been, and will continue to be, a stepping stone to manhood for millions of young men who have gone on to serve their country or community, raise families or play the sport at the highest level.
American Legion Baseball enjoys a reputation as one of the most successful and tradition-rich amateur athletic leagues. Today, the program registers teams in all 50 states plus Canada. 13 teams exist in our area league comprised of Monroe, Ontario, & Wayne Counties. Each year young players, ages 13-15 for Junior Legion & 16 to 19 for Senior Legion participate in their local league competing in local district "playoffs", State Tournament, Regional Tournament, ending with an American Legion World Series! Since its inception in 1925, the league has had millions of players, including countless who have gone on to play in college and professional baseball, with 68 inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Meyers-Ingraham American Legion Post #428 took a step out of the past and into the future by opening it's doors to a Team of their own.
S.A.L member Chuck Lamagra presented the idea of starting their own Team to Legion Post#428 at the Legions Sept meeting. Discussion of was placed before the table and Approved. Chuck was Quoted as saying how in many ways the local youth can benefit from this program, and how "baseball in this area would benefit big-time from a Junior/Senior Program in our area." Because of the great tryout turnout, there is even talk of this team going to districts in their first year!
